DeSigN Week 14th-18th Febuary :)

This painting is of a farmhouse near McGregor. The colours are quite matt and make the painting look dull. You can see the storm coming over the land bringing rain to the dry farm land. The colours in the field look like flowers, it would be nice if they would have made the colours more striking, the flowers are much more vibrant than that in real life.

This oil painting is beautiful. I love the contrasts between the warm and the cold colours. The setting looks romantic with the couple walking down the path next to a river as the rain gently falls on their umbrella. The lights are reflected in the puddles on the floor. I love the rough brush strokes and the loose feeling they give.

This piece has too much turquoise. The technique used is patina. I think it could be effective if they would have not made so many leaves and had that lost dragonfly dangling at the top on the one side. The piece feels off balance. The little beetle is lost on those bold leaves and the piece feels so heavy. I think one or two leaves with an insect would look more balanced and simple.

I think these rings are a fun idea and look really striking. Obviously it would be uncomfortable to wear all of them at once, but just one would look really nice. They have that new age feel, very modern and I think they could be unisex. They are masculine, but at the same time could be worn by women who have a taste for something different and bold.
