Design Week 20th August 2010

Searching on google for an image of a printers tray, for john's project, I found these button necklaces. Typical me they are vibrant and funky and they caught my eye immediately :). They look so 60's with all the colours combined and sometimes not even matching. That is what makes them. I like the idea of layering the buttons, it gives it a more full 3D effect.

These guys I wouldn't mind sewing onto a jacket or a bag. They are just vintage and fabulous. I love the details that each one has and each one is unique in its own little way. They could even be sewn onto a t-shirt and set it off so well. I have 2 big tins full of buttons and they are all shapes and sizes and colours. Buttons are just so cool :)

I like these rings because of their bold simplicity. They are not perfect circles and that is what gives them that quirky funky feel. Its nice that there are a few variations of the circles. 3 or maybe 2 and then different sizes and colours. Also there are warm colours together and then cold colours. That is then suited to whatever your taste may be.

This graffiti is by an artist called banksy. He does these controversial pieces that make you stop and stare. This one is really cool. I love the 3D effect that he has created. It looks like she is sweeping the dirt from the street under a curtain. I am sure this resembles some political issue.
