You can't see all the rings in this image, but I really like the branch like one. It looks really delicate and organic. The ring is light and looks very fairy like. It is simple yet effective with its twisting branches that resemble a tree.

This chair has been upholstered with IKEA fabric. The fabric from them is always funky. Every year they bring out a new range. I remember seeing this particular fabric when I was last in Germany. I love the colours and the pattern is so striking! Makes that old chair look re-vamped.

Design Week 13th September

The thing I love about when you see photographs of India, is that there is every colour under the sun. They don't have boring colours like we do. We have grey suits and black jackets. Their clothes make you feel happy. The colour combination is exquisite. They match everything from green with pink and blue with purple. All colours go well together. The ladies really stand out from the men who are dressed in their white punjabis.

Indian Jewellery always matches. They come together as a set. The serbindi coming down through her parting of her hair matches the earings and nose ring and then they match the necklace. Her outfit also ties in well with the jewellery. The jewellery is made up of many small beads and gold balls that are soldered together to form this ravishing jewellery. It is quite over the top, but it really does look beautiful.

Searching on google for an image of a printers tray, for john's project, I found these button necklaces. Typical me they are vibrant and funky and they caught my eye immediately :). They look so 60's with all the colours combined and sometimes not even matching. That is what makes them. I like the idea of layering the buttons, it gives it a more full 3D effect.

These guys I wouldn't mind sewing onto a jacket or a bag. They are just vintage and fabulous. I love the details that each one has and each one is unique in its own little way. They could even be sewn onto a t-shirt and set it off so well. I have 2 big tins full of buttons and they are all shapes and sizes and colours. Buttons are just so cool :)

I like these rings because of their bold simplicity. They are not perfect circles and that is what gives them that quirky funky feel. Its nice that there are a few variations of the circles. 3 or maybe 2 and then different sizes and colours. Also there are warm colours together and then cold colours. That is then suited to whatever your taste may be.

This graffiti is by an artist called banksy. He does these controversial pieces that make you stop and stare. This one is really cool. I love the 3D effect that he has created. It looks like she is sweeping the dirt from the street under a curtain. I am sure this resembles some political issue.

Design Week 26-30 July 2010

The pendant does not really fit with the chain. The chain is very masculine and the pendant looks light and delicate. I think they should rather use a softer necklace.Maybe smaller links or a smoother look. The pendant itself reminds me if an art nouveau style. Yet it is very symmetrical. But the layers work well and help to bring the piece together.

Beyonce's dress reminds me of an ice queen. That blue netting looks like the glaciers of the north pole. The silver is the sparkle of the sun's rays as it bounces of the ice. I like that it is strapless, but I am not to sure it looks nice that the one side sits higher than the other. I think it would be nice to have kept them even. The silver at the bottom flowing into the blue looks ok. The bracelet on her arm ties in nicely with the dress.

Week1 Design Diary Entry

Daring and original, very nice I like the design idea. I would definitly stick out at a black tie event. It gives the safe black dress a new twist.

Delicate and eyecatching. Nice shape and it works well. I like the colour combination. Black, white and red. They work well together.

stunning :)

I am a colourful and original person. My Jewellery should be for the individual that wants something unique and nothing else like that piece. I will go out of my way to make sure that my designs are vibrant and bursting with originality. Jewellery is a part of our daily life and can be adapted to any situation, whether it is a party or just another day at the office. Each person has the right to feel special and to express who they are.
